As manager of public relations for TOWN, Matt Kinsey oversees corporate and media-facing brand communications for TOWN’s sales, rental and new development divisions, as well as the strategic generation and execution of publicity for TOWN's 450 real estate professionals.
Matt has a newsroom background, with degrees in print journalism and biology from Boston University. His hard news experience at Advertising Age in New York is complemented by past editorial stints with Fashionista.com and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia in New York; National Geographic Traveler in Washington, D.C.; and PEOPLE magazine in London.
His attention to detail and love for succinct, accurate and fair language stem from his very first post, as a development editor for Pearson Custom Publishing in Boston, and from years as a freelance copy editor. Published collaborations as proofreader include print and web catalog copy for Design Within Reach, the contemporary furnishings retailer; volume one of "The Martha Stewart Living Cookbook: The New Classics"; "New Business Lessons from Madison Avenue," by Cleve Langton, chief partnership officer of Brodeur Worldwide; and a series of travel guides on northern Brazil for the São Paulo-based imprint, BEĨ Editora.
Born in Charlotte, N.C., and raised in New Hampshire, Matt moved to New York City in 2007. He has lived in a number of Manhattan neighborhoods, and currently calls Chinatown home. His love for New York always has been fueled by a commitment to local causes; he is active in the New York Women's Foundation and the Bowery Mission. When he is not working, he probably is traveling. And while he enjoys being active outdoors, he only runs when he's scared.
